IBM is holding its 15th annual Lotusphere conference in Orlando this week. Lotusphere is always a great event for meeting face to face with customers and IBM’ers alike. Getting a break from the icy Boston weather for a few days doesn’t hurt either.

Permessa is exhibiting, of course, and I am very excited about the product announcements we will be making. Stay tuned…

Off topic: My family was awoken in the wee hours today by some loud rumbling and a brief noticeable shaking of our house. The noise sounded like an explosion of sorts, but a quick look outside only revealed a thick fog hanging peacefully over the neighborhood. We were puzzled and went back to bed for a few more hours of sleep.

Exciting news! Today we announced the re-branding of DYS Analytics to Permessa. DYS Analytics was founded in the mid-nineties and grew to become a recognized leader in monitoring and analysis of enterprise email, IM and collaborative applications.

Yesterday was Earth Day, which once a year brings well-deserved media attention to environmental issues and helps in raising our environmental awareness. It was interesting to see the coverage given to something other than alternative energy technologies. Don’t get me wrong, anything that can reduce our fossil fuel dependence is worth reporting.
