Ed, are you sure about the ActiveSync limitations? I am able to link contacts, calendar and mail to Exchange with the base Droid application. Did they extend Android 2.0? And, Touchdown also works for all of the above, too.

The Android OS only has support for ActiveSync for mail. Individual device manufacturers have augmented the base Android 2.0 SDK with more capabilities. That is what makes “catch up” hard in this case.
